White Oak (Quercus alba) 3" metallic sticker

$4.00

The mighty White Oak (Quercus alba) once dotted the landscape across Illinois (where it’s the state tree) and the entirety of the eastern U.S. White Oaks can live for centuries in the wild and serve as a food source and shelter for hundreds of species of birds, mammals, insects, and more. Hundreds of years ago, White Oaks were the anchors in ecosystems that were once commonplace, such as Oak savannas and temperate deciduous forests. Now these ecosystems are rare, having been displaced by farming and other development.

However, you can become an ally to the oaks and other trees by volunteering with organizations such as Chicago Treekeepers (for those in the Chicago area: https://openlands.org/what-we-do/trees/treekeepers/)) or organizations such as Openlands (https://openlands.org/). You can also show off AND share your knowledge of trees and tree identification by purchasing this 3” metallic White Oak sticker designed by me! It’s a great conversation starter and a fun way to advocate for trees everywhere you go.
