Red Oak (Quercus rubra) 3" metallic sticker

$4.00

The Red Oak (Quercus rubra) is the most common Oak species in eastern North America—ranging as far north as the north end of the Great Lakes, east to Nova Scotia, as far south as the deep south of the U.S. and as far west as Kansas. White Oaks were once the dominant oak species, but due to heavy logging and land development, have since become comparatively rarer. Red oaks are an important and long-lived street tree in many U.S. cities, and are also common in deciduous forests. However, the red oaks face a number of challenges from diseases, invasive pests, and predation by animals before they become mature.

However, you can become an ally to the oaks and other trees by volunteering with organizations such as Chicago Treekeepers (for those in the Chicago area: https://openlands.org/what-we-do/trees/treekeepers/)) or organizations such as Openlands (https://openlands.org/). You can also show off AND share your knowledge of trees and tree identification by purchasing this 3” metallic Red Oak sticker designed by me! It’s a great conversation starter and a fun way to advocate for trees everywhere you go.
